The 2021 spring crappie season is off to a great start! We have been out everyday this week and have caught some really nice stringer of crappie. We have had several big limit stringers of 60! We have been using a variety of techniques to catch these fish. Trolling , spider rigging live bait and shooting jigs under the docks have all produced nice stringers of crappie. The fishing will continue to be good as we go toward the spawn. The weather has been colder and the water temperatures are in the mid 40's. Now is the time to bundle up and get on the water and put some fish in your freezer. Just a reminder, the spring Crappie Rodeo is underway here on Weiss Lake sponsored by the Weiss Lake Improvement Association. Stop at the local marina and purchase your ticket and then look for those tagged crappie! If you are lucky enough to catch one this year the cash prizes range from $50 to $10,000! We are booking up super fast but we still have a few days open. Give me a call today to get your dates reserved and get in on some great fishing action! Also, use caution when you are out on the lake due to the low water levels. The lake is rising but it is still around 4+ feet below full pool. Remember there is a 10 inch size limit on crappie on Weiss Lake. See Ya' on the Water!
