The fall crappie season is now underway on Weiss Lake! The first cool front of the season has finally pushed through and brought some cooler temperatures and that is going to help the fishing. We were out on the lake on Tuesday fishing with Charlie Clark from Kingston, Tennessee. We had a fantastic day and caught a limit stringer of 60 crappie! During the fall of the year you can catch the crappie fishing structure along the river channel ledges with live bait or by shooting the jigs under docks. Both methods are already producing fish. The water temperatures are now starting to fall after being in the upper 80's for the last several months. The fishing will get better as the temperatures fall as we go further into the fall. If you are thinking about a fall trip on Weiss Lake now is the time to make your plans. We are booking up fast, but we still have a few dates open. Give me a call today to get your dates reserved! The lake level will also be dropping as Alabama Power has started their winter draw down. The lake will be 6 feet low in the coming months so use caution when you are out on the water. Remember there is a 10 inch size limit on crappie on Weiss Lake and the daily creel limit is 30 per person, per day! See Ya' on the Water!
