We are now into a new year and the Spring 2020 crappie season is about to get underway! We had a great year in 2019 here on Weiss Lake and this year looks to be just as good!

The fall crappie season is now underway on Weiss Lake! The first cool front of the season has finally pushed through and brought some cooler temperatures and that is going to help the fishing.

We have made it through the Labor Day weekend and now it is time to get ready for the fall crappie season! The heat is still holding on and will for the next few weeks as we have temperatures in the mid 90's forecast for the next week. But, all of that will soon change as we get toward the end of the month.

Fishing is slow but that will soon change!

We are in the middle of the Dog Days of Summer and the crappie fishing has really slowed down. There are a few fish being caught early in the morning and late in the afternoon on live bait around brush. No big stringers being caught. We have heard of some decent stringers being caught at night fishing under lights.
