We are now into November and the crappie fishing on Weiss Lake has been great! We have been out several days and have caught some great stringers of crappie. All of these fish are being caught fishing ledges with live bait or shooting jigs under the docks. We have had a couple of fronts come through that have finally got the water temperatures dropping into the 50's. The fishing has really picked up in the last week with these cooler temperatures. The fishing should continue well into December. The dock shooting will start to drop off due to the low water levels but the long line trolling should start up later in the month so anglers will still have two methods to use to catch these crappie. Remember, Alabama Power is dropping the lake for the winter level, so use caution when you are on the lake. We have had several anglers run their boats into the shallow areas and have to wait for help to be pulled out. The lake is about three feet low now and will drop another three feet before the end of the year. Now is the time to get on the water and put some fish in the freezer! I still have a few dates open for the fall as well as the spring 2022 season so give me a call ASAP to get your dates reserved! There is a ten inch size limit on crappie on Weiss Lake and the daily creel limit is 30 per person, per day! See Ya' on the Water!
